Last weekend I had an absolute blast, starting on Friday night with a bit of sports photography, the Skerries Boxing Club put on 12 fights at the Magherabouy Hotel in Portrush. Pictures can be seen here >> Fight Night
Saturday night I was back at the Magherabouy Hotel but this time as a guest at Eoghan Rua's Strictly Come Dancing evening, after doing the portraits for the programme. It was a terrific night that was very well supported, the compare duo of Sarah Travers & Damien McLaughlin kept the crowds amused between the dances and the evenings highlight of the grand finale led to a very entertaining evening for everyone.

When Saturday comes...
Hello,
After a busy week with the update of the website and the continued transformation of 'hobbyist' to 'full-time professional' photographer I had a couple of photo assignments to do.
Firstly I went to Coleraine Gaelic Club to shoot a set of portraits for an upcoming fundraising event. I went with a previsualised idea, shooting with three lights, 2 with beauty dishes and 1 bare light for a catchlight. It is for a boxing event so the poses had to be in a boxing stance and the portraits had to look similar for the events' marketing material.
Later on that day I had a family portrait shoot on location, always a challenge as you dont know exactly how the location will look but as a wedding photographer I'm used to challenges and finding the best poses is what I love doing.

A new chapter
Hello and welcome to my blog, to be honest I don't really know how to do a blog so I will use it the same way as my Facebook and Twitter pages.
After almost 6 years from the moment I picked up my my first DSLR I have turned "PRO" in the world of photography. This couldn't have been done without the help and support of my family and all my friends recommending me for weddings, birthday parties, baby shoots and more.
Moving into 2016 I have sourced top quality wedding album suppliers, unique gift boxes, mini photobooks and amazing photo printers that my customers will love almost as much as I do, although that might be hard.
The website has had a bit of a makeover with a new layout and a new web address, www.jameshislop.co.uk
Online shopping will be affordable with high quality downloads and a variety of products on offer to cater for all occasions.
